Co-Working in Central New York

Freelance work is on the rise, and many individuals are working hard to turn self-employment into their full-time job.

While unaffiliated workers are often comfortable in their at-home surroundings, they can easily become socially and professionally disconnected. Deciding to utilize a co-working space can be the risk-free, cost-effective way to get everything you need; a middle ground between comfort, social interaction, and a professional brick-and-mortar to work out of.

So, what is Co-working? Well Forbes defines co-working as "a membership-based workspace where diverse groups of freelancers, remote workers, and other independent professionals work together in a shared, communal setting." If this sounds appealing to you, then Central New York has you covered. Check out some of the options below!

Auburn, NY

Rad Cowork

Picture
Rad Cowork is more than a space to work, it is a values-driven workspace for like-minded people in all fields. RAD Locals is the collective network of the cowork space — the creators, makers, doers, dreamers, believers, and achievers. Let’s be honest, if you’re already trying to start a new life as a entrepreneur or freelancer, you can never have too many friends to help you out.

Cazenovia, NY

Caz CoWorks

Picture
Caz CoWorks is a flexible co-working space right in the heart of the historic village of Cazenovia. They offer low cost memberships with no long-term commitment and a community of independent professionals.

Geneva, NY

Port 100

Picture
Port 100 offers more than the run of the mill work-space with fast internet access. This exclusive co-working space is a place to collaboratively work with like-minded people where you can find friends and focus. All Port 100 members are interviewed, ensuring that members have a strong community environment.

Ithaca, NY

CoLab Hive

Picture
CoLab Hive is dedicated – like the coworking movement itself – to the values of collaboration, openness, community, accessibility, and sustainability in the workplace. It’s great for freelancers who often work from home but could use a dedicated work space to help stay productive, take meetings, solicit feedback from peers, and stare out of a nice, big third story window and dream.

The CommonSpot

Picture
The CommonSpot started with a simple vision of creating a vibrant, inclusive workspace shared by local mission-driven businesses and like-minded people — a community of people passionate about their work, the community, and the environment. This space is comfortable, warm, naturally lit, filled with local art, multiple meeting rooms, workstations, monitors, lockers, printers, a kitchen-lounge area, and high-speed internet access.

Oneida, NY

Oneida CoWORKS

The Oneida Innovation Center is a place where small business owners, entrepreneurs, and individuals can thrive and grow together. They take care of running the office so you can focus on your business.

Seneca Falls, NY

FLX Workspace

Picture
FLX Workspace is a place where you can thrive whether you want to work alone or collaborate with a team. From the bright, open interior to the amenities, they have you covered — printers, solo/group desks, free guest passes, a private conference room, coffee & tea, snacks, masterclasses, and 24/7 secure access.

SYRACUSE, NY

CommonSpace Work

Picture
Commonspace Work creates the right sized and right priced urban apartments and working space, for a more social and productive experience. They have crafted living and working spaces that cultivate a collective metropolitan experience while embracing the needs of individual members.

Echo Co-working

Picture
The Echo Co-working studio can be your office! They work along side other professionals that have spent time in various locales- home, coffee shops, libraries- and have now found a home away from home. Their space on Westcott Street, on the east side of Syracuse, is bright, airy, and comfortable.

ShareCuse

Picture
ShareCuse has been designed to give tenants freedom from long-term leases and provide a environment that is both private and collaborative for all members.

Syracuse CoWorks

Picture
Syracuse CoWorks is all about building a network of independent workers, entrepreneurs and freelancers.  It's not just renting a desk and wifi, it's about being tapped into the local business scene without being tied to a private office or cubicle.  They offer wifi, coffee, and a place to work, but this space is designed to encourage organic collaboration between businesses and to inspire coworkers to be more creative.

The Creators Lounge

Picture
The Creators Lounge was born during a bus ride home to Syracuse from New York City by founder, Indaria Jones. Frustrated with inconsistent workshops and networking mixers, Indaria decided to open a space designed for creative professionals to be inspired, collaborate, and development strategies for their businesses—all the time. The Creators Lounge offers a work space that connects a diverse community of talented creators, entrepreneurs and professionals.

If you need help deciding if a co-working space is right for you, then please sign-up for cost free advisement through the SBDC.

Here, coworking is more about creative collisions and curated community and less about office space and conference rooms (even though we have that too).

It’s nearly impossible to not expand your network while being a part of our membership community. Business partners, besties, clients, mentors—you name it. We’ve had it all happen right here at the lounge. If you’re interested in joining our community, apply here. thecreatorslounge.net/membership

Reasons <a href="https://blog.premisin.com/people-thrive-in-coworking-spaces/" >why people thrive in coworking spaces</a>, because choosing coworking space for work is significantly less expensive than the alternatives.
