 Born and raised in Sterling, NY, Edward Johnson developed a deep love for horses from a young age, influenced by his "City Girl Mom" who had a penchant for equine companions. After immersing himself in the world of horsemanship through 4-H and formal training at the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School in 1991, Edward returned home to Sterling to embark on a fulfilling career as a certified farrier.
 Dr. Logan Curtis DDS is not just a skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon; he's also a testament to the transformative power of entrepreneurship. After leaving full-time service in the Army in 2019, Dr. Curtis embarked on a new mission: to open his own practice in Watertown, NY. Thus, Upstate Oral Surgery and Dental Implants was born.
 In celebration of the US Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week, the Onondaga | Watertown Small Business Development Center has selected the Greater Syracuse Business Development Corporation (GSBDC) as the 2024 Lender Partner of the Year.
 Celebrating 2023 Cayuga County Small Business of The Year honoree, Patricia Springer, Owner of Winand Products. In the spring of 2022, our Regional Small Business Development Center implemented what I had hoped would become an annual tradition. We began to recognize small businesses who had been SBDC clients as the small businesses of the year in the counties in which they operate. We timed this recognition to coincide with the US Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week celebration.
